Trends in Access Networks
Štěpán, Petr ; Křepelka, Václav (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
This work deals with the modern trends in FTTX, but mainly focuses on FTTH, who represents the connecting of fiber to the homes of the participants. Sum up the basic problems of communication on the optical fibre, followed by comparison with other types of access networks. Another part is the analysis of the problems of construction and a description of the optical network topologies and technologies used in FTTH. In following chapter are characterized active and passive elements forming AON and PON networks. Next part deals with the study of the most common services that can be on the optical access network to operate. They are mainly associated with the TriplePlay services. An integral part of the project is the study of management and supervision optical networks. In the main part is created real model situation where is the requirement for the creation of optical access networks with broadband of TriplePlay, followed by selection of appropriate options and detailed project with a selection of active and passive elements with economic balance.
Design, development and measurement of optical access networks
Ambrož, Jan ; Šporik, Jan (referee) ; Tejkal, Vladimír (advisor)
The work deals with the possibilities of realization of optical access networks. They are introduced to FTTx optical access, including their specifications and differences. The document was largely devoted to passive and active optical networks. These two different technological approaches are explained and compared. Are presented technical solutions of routes - traditional options for laying underground or into the air, but also as an alternative microtubing. Mentioned are also the active network technology. The work also included the issue of measurement of optical access networks. They are illuminated important transmission parameters and methods for their measurement. The whole work is directed to the full FTTH network design according to the standard GEPON. In designing the use of theoretical information contained in each chapter. It does the form of technical documentation in accordance with the procedures used in practice, contains drawings, specific technical solutions and a detailed budget price. The design was verified by attenuation of balance. Finally there are the results of simulations of the proposed network in OptiSystem7.
Design of FTTH network
Šifta, Radim ; Reichert, Pavel (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to bring reader the issue of FTTH optical access network design. The thesis is divided into several basic parts. At the beginning of the thesis is outlined comparison with other optical access networks. In the next chapter are discussed the basic solutions, used architectures, topologies, and their comparison. The following chapter deals with the passive elements of the distribution network, their division and using. Next chapter is focused on installation technologies of distribution infrastructure, especially on microducting technology. Penultimate chapter is focused on the video services distributioning. The final part of the thesis consists of three designed models of the different architecture for the fictional village of "Světlokosy". There is an analysis of the individual variations in technological and economic terms. Simultaneously, investment costs of the proposed models are compared and their overall comparison and evaluation.
Optical network FTTH
Horníček, Lukáš ; Dostál, Otto (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis „Optical Network FTTH“ is a theoretical and practical analysis of problems of optical access networks with respect to current and prospective trends in the construction and operation of these networks. For the clearness of thesis done divided into 6 chapters. The first five chapters deal with the optical access networks at a theoretical level with a touch of practical knowledge in the academic analysis. The first chapter deals with general concepts networks FTTH and defines the reasons for their occurrence. The second thematic chapter specifies an individual topology implemented in optical networks FTTH, their advantages and disadvantages with respect to transfer capacity and the economic-competitive potential of the network. It is defined by a principled division of optical networks in the active and passive with the definition of network architectures, communication models and protocols. The individual architectures are evaluated for suitability in the deployment of networks FTTH. The third and fourth thematic chapters inform readers with the passive and active access network FTTH infrastructure. Passive infrastructure examines the method of construction used in the past decades and the latest technology microtubing that this networks concept prevailed. The fifth thematic chapter provides Triple Play services and reasons for using these services just for FTTH optical networks. The sixth chapter is a crucial element in this thesis. Results and knowledge acquired in previous chapters is applied to real network model. It is defined by imaginary the village "Fektákov" for which they are created by three case studies covering technical and economic documentation for the realization of a real access FTTH network. This allows compare the modern ways of realization network infrastructure, including central office and subscriber terminal equipment. The results of these three case studies, conclusions are drawn that highlight the strengths and weaknesses of these architectures and also suggest the quality and reliability of these networks and the expected future prospects of development. Conclusion of the thesis is an evaluation of all evidence obtained in this work reflects the author's view on current and expected future developments in optical access networks leading its optical fiber to homes or apartments of all households.
FTTx network design
Tejkal, Vladimír ; Němec, Karel (referee) ; Reichert, Pavel (advisor)
The main goal of this diploma thesis was to implement the proposal of optical access networks in the selected location. Introduce is focused on the physical layer of network. This includes optical fibers, optical cables, connectors, optical splitters, and more. According to the place of termination of optical fiber will be studied best FTTx connections. According to network topology distinguished point to point and point to multipoint network. Networks points to point are also known as an active optical network and for each user are restricted to a separate fiber. Point to multipoint networks known as passive optical network. In terms of the PON is defined by many standards. For a selected location will be choice the most appropriate solution. Finally, the measurement will be made and will be considered for monitoring the route. Before the design of optical access networks, I made an illustrative simulation in program OptSim. Performed simulations helps to study the transmission characters of optical networks, depending on the physical architecture. In general, for the design of high-capabilities networks for large companies will be more appropriate active topology that provides due wavelength multiplexes high transmission capacity. To join in the urban areas with a large number of separate houses, it is more appropriate use of passive topology. For the design of optical networks has been selected location with multiple housing buildings. The end customer is not given the requirement for high data transfer rates as large companies. For the proposal was selected FTTB networks which is suitable because of lower costs. The second variant of the proposal was a passive optical network according to standard GPON. This standard was chosen because of the high splitting ratio. For both solutions was developed the entire proposal by ITU-T with a detailed drawing documentation. In the selected area was conducted measuring the optical networks in order to verify the possibility of extension actual solutions. For a sample issue of measurements, I made several measurements using optical reflectometer over an optical splitter in order to prove the need for measurements during construction. FTTH networks gaining in popularity more and more, but price is the limiting factor.
Spectral characteristics measurement of single fibre optical transmission
Balon, Radek ; Křepelka, Václav (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
The main object of the bachelor´s thesis is show familiarize with optical networks and measuring when the fibres are connected to operating network. The whole thesis was separated into several parts. The first part was deals with optic fiber and properties, kinds of optic fibers, methods of propagation light inside fiber and important parameters, which has undesirable effects, such as optic loss and dispesive influences. Next part was concentrated on transfer technologies, which where used for data transmission in operating networks. We talked about differences between technologies and describe the monitoring system, which was used for measuring parameters in operating network. The last part was focused on own measuring. We was measured the parameters in operating network CESNET2 and influence of the signal after connect optic monitoring probe. Measuring was implemented on optical network of Masaryk University in Brno (ÚVT MU).
